My husband and I have slowly been investing in quality home appliances and gadgets that will increase the efficiency of our every day lives. Simplehuman is by far one of the most high-quality brands I’ve come across in our quest to fill our house with different smart-home appliances. Their timeless design and efficient mission is unmatched, and my family has become a huge fan of the Simplehuman brand over the past few years. I am excited to walk you through four of my favorite Simplehuman home essentials today and a full review of why I think each of these gadgets are worth the investment.

Simplehuman Stainless Steel Step-Trash Can
First up on my Simplehuman home favorites list is the stainless steel step-trash can. This is by far the highest quality trash can I have ever come across and the price tag on these trash cans can definitely cause some second thought, but I promise it’s worth every penny (you won’t need to buy another trash can for several years!). Not only are these cans designed to efficiently fit so much more trash than other standard ones, but they are also an incredibly beautiful addition to the kitchen. Their stainless steel exterior matches our other stainless steel appliances perfectly, causing it to blend into the space well.
I also love the step-to-open functionality of these cans because I so often have my hands full when moving around the kitchen. These rash cans are also designed to hide the trash bag liner with a two-fold top lid that you can lift to remove the bag and insert a new one. The inside of the can has a pocket to hold additional liners, too, so no more storing those clunky boxes under the kitchen sink!
We went with the 55 L trash can and it’s perfect. Prior to this one, we had a round shaped step-can from Target and it broke in less than 6 months. It also did not fit nearly as much trash because the opening was such an awkward size. The rectangular design is perfect for fitting various sized items in it and we have definitely noticed that we are emptying the trash a lot less often because of how much it fits! If you have a big family, I would recommend the 58 L can or one of their dual options but for us, this is perfect! I love that we can visibly see an increased quality in the design of the trash can, too. I also love that this trash can is easy to clean with a simple stainless steel spray cleaner, keeping it extra shiny all day long!
Wall-Mounted Paper Towel Holder
Another one of my favorite Simplehuman home essentials is this mounted paper towel holder. And when I tell you that I don’t know how I functioned without this for so long, I am not lying. This saves so much counterspace and I love that it can be mounted almost anywhere! We chose to mount ours under one of our cabinets but you could mount it on the inside of one of your cabinet doors or sideways on an open wall. the possibilities for mounting this are endless!
I love that it’s super easy to change out the paper towels, too. You just remove the “simplehuman” tagged cap on the left-side as pictured above by squeezing the buttons on the side and it pops off to let you slide a new roll on. It also makes it easy to rip a sheet of paper towel off with one hand which is great for people who have their hands full in the kitchen!
This paper-towel holder is finished with the same gorgeous stainless steel touches as the trash can so it will match well with your other appliances, too! Definitely a must-have for smaller kitchens or those who need a little extra counter space.
Stainless Steel Pet Food Container
This Simplehuman pet food container is one of my favorite tools ever. I would definitely say it is a must-have for all pet owners. Not only is it designed to match the other appliances well, but it seals the odor of pet food in so well, too. The container is on wheels so can easily be moved around the house and it comes with a food scooper that magnetically attaches to the inside of the lid. The container itself is incredibly durable and has a self-latching lock so that mischievous pets can’t find their way inside on their own! I have also noticed a substantial difference in the freshness of my dog’s food since using this pet food container so I can tell that it is sealed tightly!
It’s also super easy to clean, designed with a removable plastic insert inside that you can take out and rinse without having to move the entire container. This pet food container is easily the most well-designed one I have found and I love how pretty it looks sitting out among our other kitchen appliances! We went with the medium size container and it is perfect for our one medium-size dog.
Simplehuman Smart Vanity Mirror
Last up on my Simplehuman home favorites list is this beautiful rose gold sensor vanity mirror. The best part? It folds down to a compact size that fits into a travel bag for easy storage and to bring with on trips! I love the sleek design of this mirror, making it the perfect addition to my bathroom counter and easy to tuck away when I need more space. The mirror also has a ring light around the mirror that has the option to run on a sensor so it can turn on as you approach the mirror and turn off as you walk out of sight! I LOVE this feature because it makes the use of the mirror hands-free. The magnification of this mirror is pretty high at 10x magnification, so I love using this for close-up details and facial grooming.
Simplehuman has a wide collection of other sensor mirrors, too, depending on your needs. I picked this one solely because of the compact travel capabilities and the rose gold finish. As always, I am blown away at the quality of this mirror and how elegantly designed it is. Definitely a must-have for those with a vanity space who desire high magnification!
