Living Like Marilyn: A Look Inside the Norma Jeane Suite

On January 30th, 2020, I landed in iconic New York city and checked into the Norma Jean Suite at the Lexington Hotel. This renovated luxury New York city hotel room is the recently renovated apartment where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio lived for several years in the 1950s. The hotel room is located on the 18th floor of the gorgeous Lexington Hotel nestled in the middle of bustling Manhattan. And yes, it is as jaw-dropping as it sounds.

I have had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Lexington Hotel previously during my first visit to the city so I knew my experience this time around would be nothing short of perfect. The moment you step through those revolving front doors into the lobby, you are transported into a modernly chic atmosphere that so elegantly portrays the best of New York sophistication. Their staff goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home, and with a wide range of affordable rooms available for booking, The Lexington easily places itself at the top of the list for best ever New York city hotels. Hands down.

THE NORMA JEANE SUITE

Without further ado, let’s take a peek inside the gorgeous Norma Jeane Suite herself, where all of the New York City glitz and glam happens.

The Sitting Room & Bar

The sitting room is easily one of my favorite parts of the entire suite. With a beautiful and bold color palette of black, white, blush and gold tones, this room is the perfect place for entertaining, relaxing, and a whole lot of luxury. Every single inch of this room perfectly compliments the overall theme of Hollywood glam and nostalgic New York City. I could easily pour myself a glass of champagne and enjoy the city views outside that window every single day.

The Master Bedroom & Bath

The main bedroom is the perfect definition of true elegance. While the beautiful King bed and velvet blush love chair are perfectly spirited, I felt that the Monroe-inspired vanity and desk corner was a beautifully mastered touch. Dressed with photos of Marilyn herself and decadent features of a repurposed Chanel No. 5 bottle, a vintage phone, and a stunning gold lamp, this spot is the perfect cherry on top to a true “living like Marilyn” experience. The master bathroom is absolutely stunning with both a walk-in shower and full bathtub. Can you say true luxury?

The Terrace

The terrace. Wow. The first time I opened those glass doors and walked out onto this terrace, my jaw literally dropped. Gorgeous flowers line the walls, perfectly complimenting the brick detail. Sit back, relax, and take in the perfect city views on a set of vintage styled lounge chairs. Standing there, looking out over the skyline, felt like the perfect quintessential New York City moment. And once the sun goes down, this view becomes an entirely different experience as New York lights up and paints the twilight sky. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like to wake up and fall asleep to this every single day. Pictures honestly don’t do it justice, you have to experience it for yourself!

I think it goes without saying that this hotel will always be my choice when staying in the city, and I already can’t wait to go back!
