The Jovi Patch: A Full Review

I believe that the search for healthy and sustainable changes we can make within our homes includes the choices we make with what we put in and on our bodies. Which is why I am taking the time today to share my full and honest review of the Jovi Patch: a drug-free alternative for pain relief during “that time of the month.” And other times, too!

The Jovi Patch: What is it and How Does it Work?

The Jovi Patch is a 4.5 inch circular patch that is thin, flexible, and unbelievably small for what it does. The science behind the patch is kind of crazy, and for a full understanding of how it works, I’d highly recommend reading through their “about” page here. Basically, any pain or discomfort that we experience activate “sensory receptors” which send signals to our brain. The Jovi Patch is designed with a bunch of nanocapacitors that intercept these signals, acting like a sponge to soak up the pain signals. What does this mean for us? PAIN. RELIEF.

The Jovi Patch was designed to help cure menstrual cramps so that is what it works best for, but there are hundreds of reviews (mine included) that would testify to this patch providing relief for all kinds of pains (headaches, muscle aches, back pain and more!)

We will dive into some of the nitty gritty in my personal review below, but let’s talk about how to use the Jovi Patch first!

To Use the Patch –

First off, you have to pinpoint where your pain is coming from. For menstrual cramps, this is pretty easy as the pain is most likely coming from your lower abdomen. For headaches, however, it may take a bit to find the “sweet spot.”

Once you’ve found where the pain is coming from and placed the patch over it, you should feel relief within a few minutes. If you don’t feel relief, you know you haven’t found the source of the pain yet and you should keep moving the patch around until you find it. Sometimes, this is the trickiest part. But once you find that sweet spot, your jaw will DROP!

Your order of a Jovi Patch will come with a few sticky adhesives that you can use to keep the patch in place, however, I have never personally had to use them as the patch easily stays in place when tucked in my waistband, or secured on my forehead with a headband! This is an option, though, should you need it!

The Jovi Patch: My Personal Experience

Ever since my first period 15+ years ago, I have dealt with incredibly painful cramps during my menstrual cycle. As a teenager, they got even worse and I was put on birth control to help regulate the pain. After horrible side effects from that, I decided to go off of it and deal with the cramps, but it was AWFUL. All of this to say, I know what painful menstrual cycles feel like. So I had HIGH expectations for this patch.

And it didn’t disappoint.

The Jovi Patch gave me my first EVER pain-free menstrual cycle – and yes, I almost cried when the realization that the patch actually works dawned on me. I noticed almost instant relief, I would say within a minute or so. It worked so well to remedy the pain that I actually forgot I was wearing it and wouldn’t notice until my bathroom breaks – HA!

I also suffer from pretty horrible migraines every once in a while and the Jovi Patch has helped offer pain relief for several of them. I notice it is harder to find the sweet spot for pain relief with headaches, as the trigger could be coming from somewhere you wouldn’t expect. One time, placing the patch on the middle of my back is what helped relieve the pain of a horrible migraine. Definitely interesting how that works, but patience is key when it comes to using the patch for this type of pain!

A Few Noteworthy Points –

While you only need ONE patch for LIFE (yes, really), I did notice that at times, I wish I had 2 patches to completely remedy all pain I was experiencing. During the second cycle I used the patch, I was experiencing not only menstrual cramping in my lower abdomen, but also pain in my lower back. Because of this, I will definitely be investing in a second patch so that I can help relieve multiple pains at once!

As I mentioned before, I personally haven’t used the sticky adhesives, but I have a friend who has used them and said they were tricky to get off the patch itself once the adhesive lost its stickiness. I can’t personally attest to this, but wanted to point this out as a potential hiccup!

The Jovi Patch: Final Review & Discount Code

The overall review that I would give to the Jovi Patch would be: 4.5/5 stars. I am only docking off half of a star for the price point really. UPDATE: Worth every penny. It’s been 6 months since I started using the patch and it’s a miracle worker. After really experiencing the relief from this patch for some time now, I truly see it’s value. I change my review to 5/5 stars!

Overall, I am incredibly impressed. I can’t believe I ever lived a day without this patch, and would never ever go back to a life before it. Not only is this patch an incredible product, but the community of women behind it is super empowering, too. The founder is a woman with a HUGE heart and a mission that is genuinely inspiring. I followed her journey of curating the Jovi Patch for several months before it launched and I KNEW it was going to be a huge success because of the true passion that was evident in her sharing of it.

This patch is real – the science is real – the pain relief is REAL!

  • Can you please tell me where to purchase the adhesives separately. The patch works great on Sciatic nerve pain but I’m unable to get the adhesive to come off without bunching up, and my skin reacts to paper tape. The 1st 2 adhesives I used, came right off intact with the patch, but the last 2 did not.
Any advice you have would be appreciated.

    • Hi Pam! I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble with the adhesives. I would 100% recommend reaching out to the Jovi Customer support team directly to see if they have input – they are SO helpful. I don’t personally use the adhesives so I can’t speak to any tips. I tend to use other methods to keep them in place (headbands, my bra, my wasitband/belt, etc.). Hopefully you find a better alternative!!

  • I will make mention of how I manage to stretch the use of my adhesive. Since I read that it has hydrogel in the adhesive, I tried to use a little water and rubbed gently to loosen any debris that was on the adhesive after wearing it for a few days, and found out the little bit of water revived it also. Learned it didn’t take much for it to stick enough to not shift so I wouldn’t lose it. I have worn the adhesive down to a bare minimum and had it still hold enough to stay in place under clothing. Easy to remove and set aside and place back on say after a shower. I am using mine for quite severe pelvis/sacrum/hip and back pain so I wear it 24/7 and had to move it around. It helps but is not a complete fix, I still need pain meds. But yes it does help. Almost 6 months of trying it and had been waiting on another deal to pop up, so I finally I just bought a set of three.
Now I also recently tried cutting the adhesive patch into thirds and applying just a 1/3 size section to also make them work and still last longer, and just need to be careful to not bump the patch off in the restroom or changing clothes since it is only partially stuck on, and cover it for sleep (some clothing) if wearing at night. I do wish the adhesives were not $2+ each though, which is why I am trying to make mine last as long as possible especially if i am going to be wearing 4 patches to see if I can decrease my pain meds, and be somewhat more functional. Or I wish there was an option to buy a bulk supply for a better savings than the auto ship.
I am a 62+ year old Senior on limited disability money with a very broken damaged body, just trying to manage. <3

    • Hi There! I am glad to hear that Jovi has helped relieve your pain as well 🙂 I have personally only used the adhesives a couple of times as I typically just tuck the patch into my waist band but hopefully Jovi is able to come out with a bundle of some kind to save on those adhesive refills for you! Thanks for sharing your experience!

    • Thank you for your honest review. I would like to purchase. I have inquired w/mfg but no reply yet. I am allergic to adhesive tape & latex. Do you know if the Jovi patch contains? Also if your migraine is coming from top of your head is that where you would put the patch & wouldn’t it stick to your hair? Thanks & continued success with yours & thanks for sharing. Jenn

      • Hi Jenn! Glad you stumbled across my page and found this helpful 🙂 I know that their adhesive stickers are latex free but they are actually optional to use so you could avoid them altogether to be safe. I personally don’t use the adhesive, I just simple tuck the patch into my waist band and it stays in place pretty good! When using on my head, I will use a headband to keep it in place too 🙂 Hope this helps! xo

  • Please explain what the sticky patches do. If I put the sticky side against the patch, it does nothing to hold the patch in place. If I put it so the sticky side is out, the Jovi patch doesn’t adhere.

    • Hi there! I am sorry you are having issues with the sticky patches! Both sides of the sticky patches should have a film you can pull off! So you will want to pull off one, attach it to the jovi patch, then pull off the other film and attach that to your skin where needed 🙂 If you have any other issues, I’d recommend reaching out to to the Jovi customer service team directly for help! They are incredible and super friendly!

    • Hi!- there are two sticky sides. You peel one side to put it on the patch. Next you have to peel the other side to stick on your skin. The clear film might be a bit hard to see but it does peel off. Hope this helps!
