Why the Figgy Play Couch Beats Other Competitors
Versatility
It’s no secret that there are other well-known brands that sell similar modular play couches, like the Nugget brand. However, I truly do believe that the Figgy play couch stands out among them all in a few different ways. For starters, their modular cushion pieces are all separate, designed to be connected via strong velcro strips that are installed along the sides of each one. The ability to separate every individual piece allows for a wider range of configurations and was one of my personal favorite differences when trying to make a decision on which play couch to go with. The velcro attachment system is truly what makes it have “endless possibilities” as you could, in theory, purchase as many Figgy play couch sets as you wish and they would all connect together in various configurations!
Durability
Additionally, I believe that the foam cushion inserts on the Figgy are much more durable than other brands I have tested out. The Nugget, for example, is rather squishy and over time starts to lose its shape. I noticed this to be true with a few of my friends who have this brand and also a similar version that was purchased from Costco. The Figgy, on the other hand, has retained its shape really well with a good amount of use over the past year since we originally purchased it. The cushions are firm but still really comfortable, providing the perfect foundation for kids play. I also love that because of their more structured shape, it actually doubles as a great lounge sofa perfect for reading nooks and older kids rooms once they outgrow the “toy” function of the Figgy.
Another noteworthy difference that is worth mentioning is that the Figgy play couch comes with an option to add optional waterproof liners. The included slip covers are already machine-washable, but this is a GREAT bonus that lets you greatly improve the product’s longevity and overall quality. The liners can easily be removed and washed, protecting the foam cushions from quicker wear and tear.
The Figgy Play Couch Add-ons
Figgy has a wide variety of add-ons that are all really great for leveling up the play couch. From various pillow packs offered in different shapes and colors, to pretend-play panels & ways to upgrade your existing Figgy, there really is a lot to choose from. I personally love that you can keep purchasing additions to your play couch so that as your kid grows, so does their experience and ability to create with the Figgy play couch.
One of my favorite add-ons is the Figgy Play Panel which is currently offered in a kitchen design. These play panels use the built-in velcro attachment system to easily attach to any Figgy base cushion. This set also comes with two rectangle covers that allow you to turn the smaller rectangle pillows into a faux stove and countertop. This brings a whole new level of creativity to the play couch, encouraging pretend play and fort-building!
Another noteworthy add-on I wanted to mention is that you can purchase a cover for your Newton Mattress to transform your baby’s crib mattress into another play couch cushion! How great is that! This further adds to the versatility of the play couch and gives a whole new function to that old baby crib mattress you are no longer using.
My Personal Review: 5/5 Stars
If you’ve made it this far, I think it’s no secret that my review of the Figgy play couch is easily a 5/5 stars. I believe that the Figgy takes the lead when it comes to comfortability, versatility, durability and design. The cushions are made from a high-quality foam that provides just the right amount of support to make it a perfect tool for lounging, playing, or even taking a nap! My toddler spends hours sitting, jumping, rolling around and playing on it. Its modular design allows for endless configurations and its versatility makes it a great product for kids of all ages.
It is also constructed with high-quality materials and durable fabrics that truly do withstand the rigors of playtime. The outer fabric is easy to clean, soft to touch and absolutely beautiful in color. Additionally, I have found that the brand is really intentional with their overall design and mission. They make safety a priority with hidden zippers and zipper garages, toxin-free materials and washable fabrics. I also love the fact that the Figgy is crafted in the USA, allowing for a low footprint and high impact!
As an added bonus, I love that the Figgy play couch hits the mark aesthetically. I never let this be a factor that affects my child’s creativity but it is always a huge plus for me when there are options that look nicely in our home while not in use!
